About

Welcome to The Knotthole - a small lodge nestled in the central Cascades, just one hour east of Seattle. The Knotthole features five individually decorated guest rooms, each with a private bath and all with mountain and lake views.

Enjoy hiking, mountain biking, and cross-country skiing right out the door.  Just a short walk to fishing on the Yakima River or Lake Easton.  Back at the lodge, take in the breathtaking 360 degree views from the many different decks and patios.  Inside, relax in the Great Room, watch a movie in the TV room, read a book in the loft, or sip some wine in the Wine Cellar.  Whatever your day's activities, you are sure to have a peaceful night's sleep.  And when you wake refreshed, a gourmet breakfast is served in the sunny dining room each morning of your stay.  Howard and Laurie Knott, your hosts, are always on hand to make sure your stay is enjoyable.

The Knotthole is a non-smoking, scent-free, adult establishment.  We're sorry, but we are unable to accommodate your pets.

The Knotthole Story

After travelling the state in search of the perfect spot, Laurie and Howard bought 28 acres in Easton on top of a steep hill.  They fell in love with the beautiful views, the unique setting and the convenient location to Seattle.  While living and working in the city, the two spent every weekend "on the mountain" improving the property.  They had a vision of sharing the beauty with others and started dreaming about a B&B.  The first building was completed in 2000 and houses the Moose, Bear and Fish rooms.  In 2004, the Knotts moved to Easton full time to start construction on the main lodge, which was completed in July 2005.

"The Knotthole" is a play on words between the owner's last name and the log structure of the lodge.  The 12 and 14 inch Douglas Fir post and beam logs throughout the lodge are amazing and it's a joy to gaze up at the tongue and groove fir ceilings - where, incidentally, you'll not see many "knottholes"....

Since completing construction, Laurie and Howard focus most of their creative efforts outdoors now, continually clearing more trails and building water features and gardens to enjoy.  We think you'll agree, The Knotthole is an incomparable experience!
